鬼頭純平
Artist / Junpei Kito
1996年広島県生まれ。安芸郡坂町在住。発語は少なく、いろいろなジェスチャーや表情で思いを伝える。絵を描くことも、内に秘めた思いを伝える大切な１つの手段となっている。小さな頃からアニメが大好きで、アンパンマンやドラえもんなどの様々な場面を描きこなす。11歳から本格的に絵画活動を開始。洗練された線とスピーディーな描きっぷりが特徴的。18歳の頃コピックのマーカーと出合い、新たな色の世界が生まれる。絵を描くことが日課となり、驚くほどの集中力で描き進める。描く対象は、人間も含め生き物全般と植物など幅広い。

玄関を入ると、大きな向日葵のちぎり絵が出迎えてくれる。平成30年の豪雨災害時に創作されたというちぎり絵は、災害に負けない、前を向いて歩こうとする人々を応援する絵とも感じ取れる。
玄関すぐ隣の部屋に彼のアトリエがある。今まで描いてきた大小さまざまな作品が飾られたアトリエの真ん中には、彼の創作には欠かせない大きな机とたくさんのコピックマーカーが置かれている。お気に入りの白色のペンは、箱買いしないとすぐになくなってしまうそう。
アトリエの椅子に座ると、彼の創作スイッチが入る。一旦、スイッチが入ると類まれなる集中力で、力強い線が描き込まれていく。何かを見本にしながら描くこともあれば、彼の頭の中にあるイメージだけでどんどん描き進められていくこともあるそうだ。
彼の作品は日々進化しており、同じ作家が描いたと思えないほど、描いた年代で作風が全く違っている。そういった変化を楽しむことができるのも、彼の魅力の１つ。
いくつもの、いくつもの線を重ね、彼の表現したい細かな部分までが描かれる。言葉で自分の思いを伝えることが難しい分、1本1本の線に思いが込められているのだろう。
Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1996. Lives in Saka, Aki District. Speaks little, conveying thoughts through various gestures and expressions. Drawing has also become an important means of expressing inner thoughts. Has loved anime from a young age, adeptly capturing scenes from Anpanman, Doraemon, and others. Began serious painting activities at age 11. Noted for refined lines and speedy drawing style. At 18, discovered Copic markers, opening up a new world of color. Drawing has become a daily routine, proceeding with remarkable concentration. Subjects include a wide range of living beings, including humans, and plants.

Upon entering the entrance, a large torn-paper art piece of a sunflower welcomes visitors. This artwork, created during the heavy rain disaster of 2018, feels like a supportive message to those who face disasters, encouraging them to keep looking forward and walking ahead.
Next to the entrance is his studio, where various sizes of artworks he has created are displayed. In the center of the studio, there’s a large desk and many Copic markers, indispensable for his creation. His favorite white pens are bought in boxes because they run out quickly.
Sitting in the chair of his studio switches on his creative mode. Once switched on, he draws with extraordinary concentration, crafting strong lines. Sometimes he draws referencing something, other times he rapidly progresses with only the images in his head.
His artworks evolve daily, showing such a distinct change in style over the years that it’s hard to believe they are by the same artist. Enjoying these changes is one of the charms of his work.
Layering countless lines, he captures even the finest details he wishes to express. With words being a difficult medium for him to convey his thoughts, it seems each stroke is imbued with his feelings.
